Bowling Style

A left-arm fast bowler by trade, Afridi’s tall stature adds to his advantage letting him extract extra bounce off pitches often catching batsmen off guard. Moreover, his innate capability of swinging balls both ways makes him all more lethal.

His consistency to bowl at good lengths, drawing batsmen into committing mistakes has cemented his place as one of the mainstays of Pakistan cricket’s bowling attack. His role model is another Pakistani left-arm fast bowler Wasim Akram who is hailed one among the finest to have played the sport.

Afridi in World Cup

In 2019, he received a call for representating Pakistan at the ICC Cricket World Cup hosted by England and Wales. He justified his selection by becoming the youngest player to take a five-wicket haul in a World Cup match during Pakistan’s clash against Bangladesh, which paved way for Pakistan’s 94-run victory towards tournament end.
