Born on June 1, 1985, in Chennai city of Tamil Nadu district, Dinesh Mohan Karthik was bitten by the cricket bug very early. Acknowledging his interest and natural talent for the sport, his parents enrolled him into one of India’s leading cricket academies where he learned the foundations of professional cricket.
He built significant repute at age-level competitions before making his First-Class debut for Tamil Nadu against Baroda during the 2002-03 Ranji Trophy season where he exhibited glimpses of his tremendous potential.
