Zulfiqar Babar is a renowned name in the world of cricket, particularly in Pakistan. Born on December 10th, 1978, this left-arm orthodox spin bowler has made significant contributions to his home country’s cricket team and its various successes over the years. His career took off at an relatively advanced age when compared to other cricketers, but he compensated for this late start with sheer talent and hard work.
Early Life and Career
Babar’s journey into professional cricket started from Multan, one of the largest cities of Southern Punjab in Pakistan. He began playing first-class cricket around 2001. For many years, he was part of domestic teams in Pakistan such as Multan Tigers and Quetta Gladiators.
However, it wasn’t until over a decade later that he emerged onto the international scene; his debut for Pakistan came in July 2013 during a two-match Twenty20 series against West Indies.
Post-Debut International Career

In the Test format he had a very successful year in 2014 against Australia where he managed to pick up 14 wickets in two match series becoming second highest wicket taker by a Pakistani spinner against Australia after Iqbal Qasim who took 15 wickets way back in 1979–80 season.
