Arjun Tendulkar is a name known among cricket fans all over the world. He is the son of Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, popularly referred to as the ‘God of Cricket.’ Born on 24th September 1999, Arjun has stepped into the field of cricket following his father’s footsteps where he has embarked on creating not just a single path for himself but also making his own identity.

Early Life

Arjun was born in Mumbai, India, and started playing cricket at a very tender age. The interest in cricket came naturally to him due to his family environment. He attended Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai where he showed an early affinity for cricket.

Cricket Career

During school games, Arjun displayed high skills which led him to represent Mumbai Under-14 team in the West Zone league. Subsequently, he made it to the Under-16 team and then onwards to the Under19-team representing his state (Maharashtra). His first significant achievement was getting selected in India’s Under-19 team for Youth Test Matches held against Sri Lanka.

Bowling Style

Unlike his father who was renowned for batting, Arjun revealed himself more towards bowling side. He is a left-arm fast bowler having good control over variability with swing. Although not as gifted batsman like his father but he still exhibits talent as lower-middle order batsman.

Tackling Pressure

Being Sachin Tendulkar’s son comes with its own set of pressures and expectations from audiences and critics alike but Arjun has always proved that he thrives under pressure. His love for this game doesn’t worry much about comparisons because they come straightforward with anyone associated linked to someone so successful.

Training With International Teams

In his efforts of stepping into professional cricket, Arjun trained with the England cricket team. This training further honed his skills as he learned from professionals and experienced international players.

Mumbai Indians In IPL 2021

Arjun created headlines when at a young age of 21 years, he was picked up in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 auction by Mumbai Indians for Rs20 Lakhs, which is predominantly owned by India’s biggest conglomerate, Reliance Industries. However, due to lack of vacancies in the squad and perhaps keeping the supremacy intention play, Mumbai Indians preferred him spending time on nets rather participating on field.

Learning Form Veterans

While playing for various teams within India and outside, Arjun had several opportunities to learn from experienced players and coaches. He gained guidance not only about technicalities but also mentally how to stay focused during game under high pressure scenarios.

So far, Arjun Tendulkar has shown tremendous growth as a cricketer. Although overshadowed by his father’s stature, Arjun keeps working hard on his abilities to possess a distinct recognition in International Cricket sphere someday.
