KL Rahul, also known as Kannur Lokesh Rahul, is an exceptional cricket player hailing from India. Early Life

Born on 18th April 1997, KL Rahul started nurturing his passion for cricket from an early age. Inspired by the hustling fervour of local cricket matches and major leagues alike, he joined St. Aloysius College’s academy to improve his skills at this sport. Through dedication and relentless practice, he climbed to play Under-19 level for India and then graduated to first-class cricket representing Karnataka.

Playing domestic cricket saw him gain invaluable experience and gave him the platform he needed to witness speedy growth. After achieving success with his home team, Royal Challengers Bangalore secured him during the 2013 IPL auction. Despite not playing many matches initially, KL did manage to impress everyone with his outstanding performances whenever given the chance.

International Cricket Career

In 2014, he got selected into India’s Test squad touring Australia after outstanding showings for Karnataka in Ranji Trophy’s semi-final fixture against Punjab where he scored a whopping 185 & 130 runs in each innings.

Rahul made his test debut in December 2014 against Australia at Melbourne Cricket Ground where he opened immediately impressing everyone with unmatched skillsets for a newcomer. However, it wasn’t until Sydney two weeks later when he hit his maiden century that people started considering him a future mainstay of the Indian line-up.

One Day Internationals (ODI’s)

His ODI debut came against Zimbabwe in 2016 where he hit a century becoming the first Indian to reach three figures on an ODI debut. He continued with his fantastic form throughout the series scoring consistently giving him excellent recognition among other countries.

T20 Internationals

KL Rahul made his T20 International debut for India against Zimbabwe in 2015. Known for powerful hitting and versatile techniques, he earned himself a record of being the second-fastest player to score hundreds in all formats of international cricket.

Rahul’s Current Position: Captaincy
